The Career Services Office at Kankakee Community College is offering a number of free “Job Search Boot Camp” classes designed to prepare for success at the college’s upcoming Job Fairs.

Although the classes are free, registration is required.

In “LinkedIn for Job Seekers,” learn how to use LinkedIn to connect to jobs. Participants will create a LinkedIn account, build a profile to attract employers, start networking with other professionals, search and apply for jobs using LinkedIn. Meets Wednesday, March 4 from 5:30-7 p.m. in KCC Room D121. Instructor is Kimberly Schott.

“Interviewing for Success” will help participants increase their interviewing confidence with numerous tips. Meets Wednesday, March 18 from 5:30-7 p.m. in KCC Room D121. Instructor is Kimberly Schott.

“Resumes & Cover Letters” offers tips on creating a job objective that gets results and showcases the applicant’s employment and educational background. Formatting the resume and components of a successful cover letter also will be reviewed. This workshop is great for people looking to move up in a career field. Meets Tuesday, March 24 from 5:30-7 p.m. at KCC’s South Extension Center, 1488 E. Walnut St. in Watseka. Instructor is Kimberly Schott.

“Job Fair to Job Offer” focuses on how the KCC Job Fair is structured and how to impress area employers. Two sessions are offered – Wednesday, March 25 from 5:30-7 p.m. in KCC Room D121; and Wednesday, April 8 from 5:30-7 p.m. at KCC’s South Extension Center, 1488 E. Walnut St. in Watseka. Instructor is Kimberly Schott.

These workshops do not award college credit.
