5 painting continuing ed classes

Five new painting classes are being offered this spring in Kankakee Community College’s Continuing Education Department.
The classes, which do not award college credit, give participants step-by-step instructions to make their own paintings. At the end of the class, each person gets to take their painting home. Beginners are welcome at every session, and no previous skills are required. Supplies, including a 9 inch by 12 inch canvas, are provided. Each class is led by Patti Shidler in KCC Room D151.
“Valentine Gnome Painting” meets 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3. Create a Valentine's Day gnome painting full of hugs and kisses. Cost is $35.
“Winter Scene Painting” meets 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24. Create a winter scene painting set in the woods during a snowfall. Cost is $35.
“Owl Painting” meets 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 4. Create an owl painting to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! Painters will choose from several Irish sayings to personalize the canvas. Cost is $35.
“Easter Truck Painting,” meets 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, March 23. Make a unique and fun holiday painting which shows a cool retro truck, with an Easter bunny and flowers. Cost is $35.
“Spring Red Truck Painting” meets 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, April 6. Create a red truck full of colorful flowers to welcome in spring. Cost is $35.
