Support and grief resources are available

Posted On: 10/27/26

Several hands join together to form the shape of a heart.

The loss of a member of our KCC community is heartbreaking, and we recognize that students and employees may be experiencing a range of emotions during this difficult time. Please know that support is available, and you do not have to navigate this loss alone.

Two organizations will be on KCC’s Riverfront Campus this week to provide free support, answer questions and connect members of our college community with helpful resources.

KCC Riverfront Campus

  • Transformative Growth Counseling: Free counseling services for KCC students who would like to speak with someone. Contact Transformative Growth at 630-423-6010 or contact@transformativegrowth.org.
  • Harbor House: Representatives will be on campus to offer support, answer questions and share information and resources related to domestic violence awareness. The dates and times are Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in Health Careers; and Wednesday, Oct. 28 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in Room L355

Community support

In addition, Uplifted Care offers free grief counseling for the community at their location in Bourbonnais at 3115 N. 1000W Rd. Anyone interested can reach out at https://upliftedgrief.org/ or call 815-939-4141.

We recognize that everyone processes loss differently, and there is no right or wrong way to navigate this experience. Whether you need someone to talk to, have questions, or simply want to learn more about available resources, we encourage you to reach out.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the sudden death of Anne Reilly. We care about our KCC community and encourage you to take care of yourself and one another during this difficult time.
