Every connection starts with a greeting

This is a message from KCC’s Culture of Caring Committee:
Connection, belonging and community begin when people feel seen, heard, and valued.
A simple hello, a remembered name, a meaningful conversation, or an invitation can change someone’s experience. KCC invites you to be part of a college where every person knows they matter and every interaction strengthens our community.
Every connection starts with a greeting. Names matter.
Here’s the challenge: Commit to saying hello to at least five people each day whom you may not normally interact with. Each week, make an effort to learn and remember the name of one new person.
Then, think about whether acknowledging someone changed your day—or theirs?
By doing this, you aren’t just transforming someone else’s day—you can deepen your own sense of belonging. When we choose to look up, reach out, and truly see one another, we build a college culture where no one is a stranger.
Thank you for bringing your kindness, your presence, and your voice to KCC! Let’s make this our shared commitment: to ensure that every single person who walks our halls knows they belong here.
