2 college fairs at KCC on Sept. 22

On Tuesday, Sept. 22, Kankakee Community College will host a daytime Transfer Fair and an evening Area-wide College Fair.

TheTransfer Fair will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the College Center. The Area-wide College Fairwill be from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22.

More than 50 public and private colleges and universities are expected to attend the events to share information with prospective students and their families. Current college students, high school students and the public are invited.

In addition to visiting four-year institutions, participants can stop by KCC’s booth to explore local degree, certificate, and transfer options. KCC will also have information on the FAFSA and the financial aid process.

Illinois public universities expected to attend are: Chicago State University, Chicago; Eastern Illinois University, Charleston; Governors State University, University Park; Illinois State University, Normal; Northern Illinois University, DeKalb; Southern Illinois University, Carbondale; Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville; University of Illinois at Chicago; University of Illinois at Springfield; University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and Western Illinois University, Macomb.

Illinois private colleges and universities expected to attend include: Augustana College, Rock Island; Benedictine University, Naperville; Blackburn College, Carlinville; Columbia College, Chicago; Concordia University, River Forest; Dominican University, River Forest; Judson University, Elgin; Lincoln College, Lincoln; Lincoln College, Normal; McKendree University, Lebanon; Midwestern University, Downers Grove; North Central College, Naperville; Olivet Nazarene University, Bourbonnais; The Illinois Institute of Art, Schaumburg; Rasmussen College, Mokena; Roosevelt University, Chicago; University of St. Francis, Joliet.

Out-of-state universities expected to attend include: Ball State University, Muncie, Ind.; Ferris State University, Big Rapids, Mich.; Franklin University, Columbus, Ohio; Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, Ariz.; Indiana Wesleyan University, Marion, Ind.; Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind.; Purdue University Calumet, Hammond, Ind.; Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Ind.; Taylor University, Fort Wayne, Ind.; University of Wisconsin, Platteville; and Wilberforce University, Wilberforce, Ohio.

The events will be held in the KCC College Center, inside the main entrance. KCC is located at 100 College Drive, Kankakee.
