KCC will be closed for the rest of the week

Due to the tornado and severe storms, Kankakee Community College will be closed for the remainder of the week as we assess damage and begin necessary repairs. This includes the Riverfront Campus and Manufacturing and Industrial Technology Center (MITC) in Kankakee, North Extension Center in Bradley and South Extension Center in Watseka.
The Red Cross is currently operating a shelter on the Riverfront Campus, and anyone in the community who needs shelter is welcome there.
Otherwise, for everyone’s safety, staff, students, and community members are asked to stay away from the college during this time. While we understand there may be curiosity about the storm’s impact. It is important that the area remain clear so assessment and repair teams can do their work safely and efficiently.
It’s planned that the Riverfront Campus could be fully operational by Monday.
Our thoughts are with everyone who may have been affected by the storm. If any of our faculty, staff or students experienced catastrophic impacts, we want to help connect you with community agencies and available support. Please reach out to studentaffairs@kcc.edu so we can assist.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to restore operations. Further updates will be shared as needed.
