Join us as we honor the accessibility financial aid offers our students on their academic journey.

  • Financial aid makes college affordable.
Explore your options — grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study — to help pay for your education. Check out the KCC Financial Aid website to learn more!
  • Financial aid is not just for low-income students.
Many students from middle-income and high-income families also qualify for financial assistance. Check out the different types of aid on the KCC Financial Aid website.
  • Complete the FAFSA.
It is faster and easier than ever to fill out, with most students and families completing it in less than 15 minutes. Check out this video on How to Fill Out the FAFSA form and our upcoming Financial Aid Workshops.
  • Complete the Alternative Application for Financial Aid.
Eligible undocumented students may apply for all forms of state financial aid, including the Monetary Award Program (MAP) grant, the state’s largest need-based grant program for low-income college students.
  • Navigate the FAFSA with financial aid counselors.
We can provide help and resources to help our students understand the process, including how to apply for federal student loans. Stop by the Office of Financial Aid on the 2nd floor in the Student Affairs Department, call 815-802-8550, or email finaid@kcc.edu to get assistance.
  • Plan ahead for financial aid.
Be aware of different deadlines. Check out the KCC Financial Aid calendar for 24-25 and the upcoming 25-26 school years to plan ahead!
  • Finance your future.
In addition to grants and scholarships, which do not need to be repaid, loan programs can help students and families finance their education. Learn more about federal education loans to see if they are a suitable option for you.
  • Understand your funding options.
Grants and scholarships are free money; loans must be repaid with interest. Compare federal and private loan options carefully.
  • Financial aid covers more than tuition.
It can be used for books, housing, transportation, and other essential college expenses, which can also be covered by student loans.
  • College is an investment in your future.
Weigh the costs of borrowing against the potential long-term benefits of a college degree.
  • Get help with financial aid and loan repayment planning.
The KCC financial aid office and online resources can help you make informed decisions. Check out our Financial Aid Handbook to more details!
